Dear Members:

Congratulations!!!! All our hard work has paid off. The Town has completed the rebuilding of the dam and refilled the lake. Due to the removal of the coffer dam that held all the sediment in the lake, in combination with the hard work our volunteers did cleaning the lake bed, the water clarity has improved from 2 ½ feet last year to 7 ½ feet this year!!! Unheard of improvement!

Another reason to rejoice is we finally have gotten the lake restocked by the New Hampshire Fish and Game. We have to thank Senator Bob Smith, Senator Arthur Klemm, Selectman and State Rep. Jim Holland who worked diligently with the fish and game department to supply us our fish stock. We must really thank Senator Bob Smith and his Assistant Jeff Rose who really went to bat for us. Please remember all of them at the September primary.

The fish that they provided us with were all Large Mouth Bass, 2 ½ lbs. and up. These fish should spawn next year providing even more fish to our ample fish stock.

This is a good time to announce our first annual free JUNIOR FISHING DERBY on September 8th (Sunday). Rain date will be September 15th. The derby will be from 7am to 10am. Prizes will be awarded to the following 4 classes:
5 years old and under
6 to 10 year olds
10 to 14 year olds
15 and up

RULES
All participants 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult. All participants must pre-register at 6:30am at one of 2 locations:
Millville Beach on Millville Circle
or
Little Saugus Field on Grove Ave.

All Fish must be kept alive until registered and released back in the lake, i.e. Stringer, pail, fish net bag, etc. A MLPA representative will be at both locations and in a boat to register your catch. All participants 14 and over must follow the rules of the New Hampshire Fish and Game (license is required for 14 and over).

We apologize for the late date, but we wanted to wait until we got our fish restocked. Awards will be given out at 12 noon at Millville Beach on Millville Circle. You do not have to attend to receive your prize. Good Luck to all!!!!

We will have a member meeting this Thursday, August 29th at 7pm. It will be at 115 Millville Circle, you can park at the beach parking lot. Topics to be covered:

1. Agreement with the Town on Millville Beach.
2. Amy Smagula for the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services will talk about how we can keep our lake clean. We've made so much progress, let's keep it going.

Also, we are being inundated with Purple Loostrife which is a harmful weed. Amy will have instructions on how to remove it. Each plant produces 2 ½ million seeds. This spread from a small patch last year to most of the shore line this year.

The information we receive from Amy has always been very informative and helpful. It will be worth your while to attend.

Also, if you have any items that you feel the Lake Association should address please bring it up at this time. Anyone wishing to join the association can do so at the meeting, membership fee is $30.00 (tax deductable). We hope to see you Thursday evening at my home.
