- Just a few plants last year, but with millions of seeds per flower head.
- This plant is not only a problem throughout New Hampshire, but the
entire Continental United States and portions of Canada!
- Purple Loosestrife is changing the faces of wetlands all over the U.S., out
competing over the native plants like cattails and leaving nothing for the
native birds, insects or mammals to eat.
Purple Loosestrife Management
- Clip flower heads and place in black plastic trash bag.
- Dig up single plants.
- Opt for herbicides (with permit for slightly larger patches).
- Opt for biological control for larger areas.
- Contact Tom Durkis and/or
